Frequently Asked Questions
Q: How does the free trial work?
You get 14 days of full access to PitCrewAI after you subscribe. Apple manages the trial — enter your payment
method to start, and Apple automatically converts the trial to a paid subscription on day 15 unless you cancel
first. You can cancel anytime in Apple ID → Subscriptions.
Q: How do I cancel my subscription?
Open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, tap PitCrewAI, then Cancel Subscription. You can
cancel during the trial or anytime afterward. If you cancel during the trial, you won't be charged.
Q: Does PitCrewAI work with my car?
PitCrewAI works with any vehicle sold in the US since 1996 (OBD-II standard). Some features — like engine load
and fuel trim — depend on what your specific manufacturer exposes, and PitCrewAI adapts to what's available.
Q: Do I need an OBD-II dongle?
For the full experience, yes. PitCrewAI works in a lighter "GPS-only" mode for mileage tracking alone, but
diagnostics, live telemetry, and crash detection require a compatible Bluetooth OBD-II dongle. We recommend the
VGATE iCar Pro BLE 5.2 (~$20 on Amazon). A custom PitCrewAI dongle is in development.
Q: Does PitCrewAI work with WiFi OBD-II dongles?
Not currently. PitCrewAI uses Bluetooth Low Energy. WiFi dongles — like the iCar Pro WiFi version — are not
supported.
Q: Will it drain my battery if I leave the dongle plugged in?
PitCrewAI detects when your engine is off and stops polling to avoid ECU wake-up. The dongle itself draws a small
amount of current continuously; if you park for several weeks, unplug it.
Q: Is my vehicle data shared with anyone?
No. All telemetry stays on your device. PitCrewAI does not sell, share, or monetize driving data. See our Privacy
Policy for full details.
Q: I'm having trouble. How do I report a bug?
Email support@appprovedsoftware.com with: your iPhone model, iOS version, vehicle year/make/model, dongle model,
and a description of what happened. Screenshots help.
